Thank you for this insightful analysis. So, would you say it is those voters that feel at the margins of 'mainstream society' that are attracted by the FPÖ? It seems a bit like the vote of a people who are financially, educationally, geographically, and in terms of health acceptance 'on the margins'? Resonates very much w populism research, scary nonetheless.

I think that depends on how you define the 'margins' of Austrian society. Geographically, these voters are removed from where decisions are made, and the urban-rural divide is a very old one in Austrian politics that I think is relevant here. On the other hand, can one argue that voters in employment who likely own their own homes and stand to benefit from this government's eco-social tax reform package are 'marginalized' in the same way that asylum seekers living in Austria's cities are?
